The Garry Chappelow Memorial Fund.
Garry Chappelow was tragically killed, at the age of 59, in a traffic accident in 2002; His death was marked by 70 tribute notices filling a page in the Yorkshire Evening Post newspaper. Garry loved all sports especially rugby and he was always helping out at amateur rugby games, running the touchline, water carrier, cleaning out the changing rooms etc. He was always cheerful and never had a bad word to say about anyone, Garry Chappelow was ‘simply the best’. Over 800 people attended Garry’s funeral and in excess of £1800 was collected. It was suggested that a fund be set up in his name, so the Garry Chappelow Memorial Fund was formed.
